Milano Cadorna railway station
The Synthetic Hanging Forest that will produce oxygen for Milan
The Hanging Synthetic Forest will be developed in one of the most evocative areas of Milan, crossed by Leonardo da Vinci’s route stretching from the Sala delle Asse of the Castello Sforzesco to the Last Supper in Santa Maria delle Grazie, and, like an imaginary factory, it will produce oxygen for the city of Milan.
It is a pioneering project aiming to re-establish a bond between the city and the natural environment through the development of high quality, livable and accessible public spaces.
Besides green areas and pedestrian zones, the area will also be equipped with further urban services, to be integrated into the metropolitan centrality, in a harmonious blend with the high accessibility characteristic that Milano Cadorna railway station has and will have, coupled with an updated attitude to meet traveling citizens’ needs. Under the O2F project, Milano Cadorna railway station will not be just an unalterable symbol of the Ambrosian and Lombard endeavor of the 19th century, but will also pay off an environmental debt by seamlessly reconnecting with urban relations continuity, generating new revitalization and regeneration opportunities.
